Retail Deal

NASDAQ listed Indian firm Cognizant has acquired Zaffera, a SAP retail consulting and software development company based in Princeton, New Jersey for an undisclosed value. Zaffera is a consulting and software development company specialising in SAP solutions, with expertise in retail, apparel, footwear and consumer products. Zaffera's rich talent pool has an average of 12-plus years of experience in the SAP retail space. Similar to Zaffera, Cognizant also has a deep expertise in retail. Cognizant derives over 20% of its global revenues from retail, manufacturing and logistics. Together, they plan to deliver end-to-end SAP solutions to the world's leading retailers. Cognizant currently employs over one lakh people and has over 50 delivery centers worldwide. The coming together of both companies will also expand Cognizant's ability to provide industry-focused SAP consulting and software solutions. In July, Cognizant acquired the India unit of analytics and business services firm CoreLogic for $ 50 million.

Can they map my india better?

It is one of the most popular brands in Europe, but yet unheard of in India. GPS manufacturer Tom Tom has launched three of its products in India namely – Via 100 (4.3-inch, without voice control), Via 120 (4.3-inch with voice control) and the Via 125 (same as the Via 120, but with a 5-inch screen). The device has a 4.3 inch touchscreen and a single power button at the back. But the attraction of Via 120 and 125 is the voice control. One can also use the device to make and receive calls. It offers a wide range of regional & foreign language selections. However, in comparison to the already available MapmyIndia- Vx240, it is simply a GPS device. The cheaper MapmyIndia Vx240 has the same size screen, expandable memory, can play audio and video files, supports ebooks, has a 3.5mm audio output for headphones and can serve as a screen for a reverse camera in addition to the navigation and Bluetooth features that the Via offers.
