Zomato

Zomato was earlier known as Foodiebay, conceptualized in the cafeteria of Bain & Company. Zomato is a restaurant search and discovery service founded in 2008 by Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah. It currently operates in 23 countries, including India, Australia and the United States. It also provides user reviews and ratings. With dedicated engagement and passionate management, the site is enabling restaurants to focus on food quality, and customers to choose from the best offers.

Faasos

Faasos is an Indian “food on demand” online portal incorporated in 2011 by Jaydeep Barman (INSEAD alum) and Kallol Banerjee. Faasos operates in the 17 largest cities in India taking orders via its mobile app. Launched in 2014, it is the only vertically integrated food business in India. Faasos receives 10,000 orders a day across India and has recorded a growth rate of 20-25 per cent month-on-month – 800,000 downloads with 200,000 processed orders through its mobile app.

Easy Khaana

Easy Khaana, founded by Aayush Anand, is one of the leading corporate food providers in Delhi NCR. The brand is focused on making food not just affordable and convenient but also fresh and delicious. This online food portal delivers home-cooked food on the table. Professionally packaged meal boxes for delivery are made available for events or trainings. As a corporate caterer, this corporate food curator caters to the discerning consumer, one who prefers home-cooked food than off the shelf.

Swiggy

“We are all about food” is the philosophy of Swiggy, a food ordering and delivery company based out of Bangalore. It was inspired by the thought of providing a comprehensive food ordering and delivery platform from the best restaurants in the vicinity catering to the urban customers. Swiggy has its own exclusive fleet of delivery personnel to pickup orders from restaurants and deliver it to customers.

bigbasket.com, founded by Hari Menon, Vipul Parekh and others in 2011, is India’s largest online food and grocery store. Godrej Nature’s Basket

Nature’s Basket is the Godrej Group’s answer to e-tailing portals. Growing with pace in the segment, it is today India’s preferred retail destination for quality food from across the globe. Nature’s Basket has scaled into a 36-store chain of premium utility outlets strategically located at prime locations in Mumbai, Delhi/NCR, Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Users can purchase all products online on its website for services at doorstep. Nature’s Basket is supported by an expert team of food experts who search for the best and newest food products from around the globe.

Grofers

Orange T-shirt wearing delivery boys, a unique feature that Grofers has made ever present in the modern day metropolis. Grofers is a local mobile e-commerce platform that is transforming the shopping experience for the common man by providing the first to last mile delivery service to its e-commerce clients (shops, basically). An online app is available where registered users can order household items from the listed shops to be delivered to their doorstep, quickly. The online portal offers a wide range of groceries, fruits and vegetables, even including cosmetics, electronics, bakery items, flowers and others.

Reliance Fresh Direct

Reliance Fresh Direct is the Mukesh Ambani group’s online foray into providing all household items available at 1691 Reliance Fresh outlets across the country. These stores sell fresh fruits, vegetables, staples, groceries, fresh juice, bars and dairy products. The brand is working on its “farm-to-fork” theory, sourcing fresh goods from farmers and selling directly to the consumers, removing middlemen out of the way. Given the backing of the Reliance group, this online brand is only going from strength to strength and is expected to maintain its massive leadership in the coming years.
